When were video games created?

In 1952, a british proffesor named A.S. Douglas created a game known as OXO, which was basically tic-tac-toe on a computer screen for a college project. In 1958, a physicist named William Higinbotham invented "Pong" and it basically simulated a 2D tennis match on the screen. Higinbotham invented this for the Brookhaven National Labratory open-house. It was by far the mos popular piece in the exhibit. In 1962, Steve Russel invented a game "Spacewar!", which was a space-combat game and was the first video game that was available on multiple computers.
